You can stand for election to our Board if you have been a Member for at least two years and have spent £500 or more with the Society in the last 12 months.
As part of your nomination, you’ll provide us with an election statement where you can share your relevant skills, experience and qualifications. It’s also important that you demonstrate your commitment to co-operative values and principles.
If elected, you’ll attend monthly Board meetings (usually at our Support Centre in Lichfield) as well as Committee meetings and meetings with our Members. The position also requires you to represent our Society and Members at events. We’ll provide training and development to support you in your role so you can really make a difference.

We’ll be running a briefing session at 4:30pm on Thursday 13th February for Members wishing to find out more about the role of Board Director and the nomination and election process. Email secretarial.office@centralcoop.co.uk to find out more and register.
Improving our Diversity
Our Board and MCCs are committed to increasing their diversity and would particularly welcome nominations from young people and members from ethnic minority groups.
Hear from a Member-elected Colleague Board Director
Rebecca Britland was elected to the Board as a colleague representative in the Central Region in 2024. Hear from Rebecca about why you should think about getting involved.
