We’ve updated our system behind the scenes which means if you’re an existing Member (before 28th February 2023), you’ll need to reactivate your account online.

We’re excited to launch Co-op Generation – a new way for under 16s to access Member prices in our stores and take that first step into Membership. It’s an idea born from your feedback and it’s part of our ongoing commitment to support young people in our communities.

The Co-op Generation application window has closed. We’re reviewing our scheme based on your feedback so stay tuned for updates. If you’d like to join the waitlist, submit an application below, and we’ll process this when we reopen applications.

My 15-year-old is almost 16, can they still join Co-op Generation?

Yes, they can, but if your 15-year-old is soon to be turning 16, we’d suggest waiting until they turn 16 and applying for a Central Co-op Membership. This means they’ll be able to enjoy all of the benefits of being a Member.

Can I apply for more than one child to have a Co-op Generation card?

Yes, you can! You can apply for up to three under 16s. You’ll need to complete an application form for each child.

Can I use my Co-op Generation card in any Co-op store?

No, Co-op Generation cards are only valid in Central Co-op stores. Exclusively, only Central Co-op Members can apply for a Co-op Generation card for an under 16.

Will the Co-op Generation card be digital so it can be added to a smart phone digital wallet?

Not right now. We’ll send a Co-op Generation card out to you in the post, this will arrive 2-3 weeks after you’ve submitted your application. We’ll also send you an email which will have the account barcode – whilst you can’t download this barcode, you can show the email in store and scan the barcode whilst you’re waiting for your card to arrive.

Please allow up to 24 hours for the email to arrive in your inbox.

What happens if I lose my card?

If you lose the card, please give us a call on 0800 050 1601 to request a replacement.

Does it matter if my child doesn't live at the same address as me?

We’ll send the card to the address you add to the online application form.

If I applied for a Co-op Generation card during the trial in May, will the card remain valid after the end of the trial?

Yes, any Co-op Generation card issued will remain valid until the cardholder turns 16.
