Northern Member and Community Council

The Northern MCC represents Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Chesterfield and Yorkshire. In addition to organising activities and events aligned with the Society’s strategic themes, the MCC supports Members through educational, recreational and cultural initiatives, providing additional resources and opportunities. In Derby, the council facilitates several community groups, including the Open Expression Group, Tatting Group, and Men’s Group, which meet in dedicated community spaces. The MCC also welcomes new groups interested in utilising these spaces outside regular hours.

Due to the wide area covered, the council is structured as follows:

Derbyshire & Chesterfield local members: Philip Fee, Tricia Goodwin, Ollie Pardo, Jane Avery, Oliver Buxton, Paula Davis, Karl Furniss, Mark Grayling, Kevin Hepworth, Chloe Kelly, Josh Ludlam, Janet Morris, Craig Price, Paul Robinson, Peter Smith, Richard Watson, and Joanna West.

Yorkshire local members: Tom Robson, Carol Warham, Shirley Bly, Jason Bottomley, Fenne Casey, John Cowan, Mark Freeman, Georgina Graves, Neil Holmes, Martin Moonie, Dawn Pitt, Rayne Sutcliffe, and Claire Wilde.

Scunthorpe & Doncaster (Cluster Groups) local members: Ian Miller, Dot Miller, and Sandra Deans.

About Tanya

I have worked as a MCRO for the Society for 24 years. Before that I also worked in our secretarial department for 10 years providing support to the Board and the Chief Executive/Secretary. I have just completed 9 years as an elected employee Board member to our Society and elected to Co-operatives UK and the Rochdale Heritage Trust. I particularly enjoy researching co-op history and look to recognise those before us who dedicated their lives to co-operation.
